Mesmer Farming Vaettirs?
Can it be done? Looking at the the e/me build from pvx http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:E/Me_Glacial_Solo_HM do u think it could be modded so a mesmer can do it.

you could do
[skill]signet of illusions[/skill] + [skill]stoneflesh aura[/skill] + [skill]stone striker[/skill]
and some other stuff to.
or
[skill]arcane echo[/skill] + [skill]mist form[/skill]
idk if the vaettirs have skills that bypass mist form, i dont have Eotn im just speculating, but it might work.

if u trying to do this run on a mes i just say echo shadow form and higher the keg guy ya drops will be better then trying to do the e/me way and it is a lot quicker and faster..just look on youtube to see how to do it search keg farm

i git a mesmer, i got signet of illusions, i got mist form.
hmm let me get breakfast and try it ouy.
little idea here:
[build prof=Me/E ][glyph of elemental power][Elemental Lord][Glyph of Swiftness][Obsidian Flesh][Stoneflesh Aura][Mantra of Earth][Crystal Wave][Teinai's Crystals][/build]
earth on 12, boosted by glyph of ele power and ele lord, making it 15.
now with an 20% enchant mod and glyph of swiftness you can keep it up forever.
mantra of earth and stoneflesh aura reduced damage to zero.
and you deal damage with crystal wave and teinai's crystals.
it it slower than e/me but it works i think.
i did NOT try it, just idea, i am going for breakfast now, happy testing

Mesmers can't maintain SF. takes some time to ball them up, and then to kill them.

i'd say throw in [skill]glyph of swiftness[/skill] +[skill]arcane echo[/skill] + [skill]mist form[/skill]. + 20% ench mod, if you were to go with Mist Form. but still the Vaettirs are mesmer as well, they own u with hexes?
the glacial farmer goes with obsidian flesh. which is an elite. looks kinda impossible for a mesmer to do.

It won't work, glyph of swiftness will cancel out glyph of epower, dropping earth magic back down to 14.

Well, unless I'm doing my recharge math wrong, at 13 earth magic Obsidian flesh should last 22 seconds and recharge in 22.5 with glyph of swiftness (does the game round recharge?) so if you are very quick it should be possible. I know from farming them with my ele that you can usually survive a really short gap in OF, just sub in [[ether feast] for glyph of elemental power and you should be good to go. I mean, you could buy an essence too, but that's just not cost effective...
And to the OP, I bet [[ether nightmare] + [[Cry of Pain] would work well for damage as well.

got aura of restoration instead of glyph of ele power.
hmm, they died, but i am going back to keg running, its a lot faster

You can run the sf build with a mesmer for killing the vaettirs with the keg guy. You can cast sf up to 3 times with the arcane echo. Aggro up one side, kill them, let sf drop then go do the other side. I do it all the time it works well.

the idea is that you ball them up, and kill them with the keg guy, while using SF. they all die at once, so you don't need to cast any more SF after you killed them.

I just did the run with:
Crystal Wave, Teinsai's Crystals, Elemental Lord, Shatter Hex, Glyph of Swiftness, Obsidian Flesh, Stoneflesh Aura, Mantra of Earth.
5 Fast Casting
5+4 Domination
10+1 Inspiration
4 Air Magic
12 Earth Magic
With elemental lord, the time in which you are vulnerable to hexes is about one second. If you don't get hexed, just go on your happy way nuking them. If you do get hexed, usually, it's only one hex, so use shatter hex, which will add some dps while getting rid of the hex.
p.s. Can anybody teach me how to make the builds look pretty? Unfortunately, I don't know how to make them appear as anything but text.

This build is for farming them yourself...in all honesty, I'm not even sure who, or for that matter, where, this dwarven keg guy is...
Oh, and the build:

Weapon Set: The only thing absolutely necessary within your weapon set is a 20% enchantments mod.
WARNING: Make sure that [Stoneflesh Aura] is cast AFTER [Mantra of Earth]. If this is not done, enough damage will get through to kill you.
As for the use of [Shatter hex], do not use it if [Clumsiness] is the top hex, it wears off in 4 seconds. Instead, use it on [Images of Remorse] & [Conjure Phantasm], as these hexes do 3 and 5 degen respectively. If done correctly, it adds a lot of dps to this build.

I was viewing this thread : http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10358074 as i wanted to make my mesmer survivor, it stated it could be done with anything /Mo with healing breeze, and the prot skills, i tried, and died . which sucked, ofcourse, but then i came up with Shadow Form, who needs crappy life bond heroes if you can do it solo?
so I hired a runner, he ran me from Sifhalla >> Drakkar >> Norrhart >> Bjora >> Jaga moraine, then he left.
I farmed the whole lake with this build:
[build prof=Me/A shadowarts=12 fastcasting=11 inspirationMagic=5][auspicious incantation][arcane echo][Shadow Form][shadow [email protected]][optional][optional][dark [email protected]][shadow of [email protected]][/build]
1-2-3-8-lure-2-drop the kegs-7
worked perfectly, got to 604,000/1.337.500 just by doing that till my internet had a tiny lagg which made me 1 second late on SF.
it works, whole lake can be done under 5 minutes ( which is true, as I only needed 1 Scroll of Slayer's Insight ) and gets you nice drops. and about 60x700 = 42k experience, would recommend it to anyone.

( don't know how to put Shadow Form into pve skills), and you don't need any1 specific weapon or armor, I did it with a +1 Illusion Magic headpiece and it worked brilliantly, additional health isn't useful as Shadow Form will drain it all, and energy is no problem as you have [[auspicious [email protected]]
if worried about energy take a staff with a + 5 when enchanted, and you'll be fine, dash can also be nice for the running between the groups.

slight confusion here - you say lake but as far as i recall theres no lake in jaga moraine specially where vaettires are.
Staff wise - 20% enchant staff with insightfull head and +5 insc means 20 nrg - but i use sin with zeleous scythe of enchanting and i dont seem to run out of nrg - then again sins only need 3 skills to keg farm so 30 nrg is all thats needed.

you dont need any form of staff, or energy management as long as you have Auspicious Incantation.
if you use if before arcane echo your entire energy bar is filled again, then Shadow form -10, and shadow of Haste -5. so basically you have like 18 seconds to recharge 10 energy, which is quite achievable, don't you think? as with 4 regen you will have 12 energy back in 9 seconds. then you recast Shadow form, and then start keg dropping, if done correctly your shadow of haste runs out earlier than shadow form, which causes you to shadowstep back to safety.
i don't like using a staff with +20% enchantments, because 18 + 20% ( 18x 1.2 = 21.6 seconds, and arcane echo runs out after 20 seconds, which basically would mean that your survivor is casting shadowform, gets interrupted because arcane echo runs out, which leaves you with +- 1.2 seconds to activate dash to teleport out, ( or dark escape, whatever ). + you wouldn't have killed anything, so i calculated it.
if you would have a enchantment mod + 10% your Shadow Form would last ( 18 x 1.1 =) 19.8 which would mean that if you would have casted it before your old shadow form would run out, you would never fail shadow form, which was my main priority as a survivor. though enchantment + 10% mods are quite rare ( worthless though, ) because nobody saves them, as they are not perfect, and therefore worthless. still looking for and enchantments + 10% mod, so if anybody would have
it's certainly do-able with no enchantment increasing mod, or with a +20% mod, it just takes some practise. ( i tried it with a + 20% mod, you would have to recast about 0.0-0.5 second after it starts blinking because otherwise your shadowform recast would get interrupted by arcane echo ending. )
hope this helps, it's also better than the Me/Mo with regen farm as stated in the "legendary in under 1 and half hour" thread, though that thread was made for R/* so you can't blaim him.

If you want 10% enchantment mods, it would be best to go to the earlier areas in each campaign in normal mode. I remember that, in the past, I've come across 2-3 of the 10% mods...of course, I never kept them...

worked out another way yesterday,
weapon set 1 : anything ( as long as it doesn't have a + % ench mod )
weapon set 2: anything with a +20% enchantments mod )
Weapon set 1 -> 1-2-3-8 -> weapon set 3 -> 2 -> drop kegs -> 7
worked pretty brilliant, got to 799.852/1.337.500 yesterday, gonna continue today.
I'd really recommend it, loads of golds, glacial stones, and exp.
